A JKA Solvents and Glue Application Workshop

April 10, 11, 12 - Join Live on Zoom or Online via Recordings

No prior experience with Solvents and Glue is necessary for this workshop.

Squatting is a fundamental position that many people find increasingly challenging at different stages of life.

This 3-day workshop uses the foundations of Solvents and Glue to explore the various types and approaches to squatting. We will focus on enhancing strength and mobility in these different positions, as well as mastering the transitions into and out of them.

Once we've developed clarity in squatting movements and mechanics, we'll explore how to transfer these foundations into other movement situations that are related to and build upon squatting .

This workshop takes place mostly in a variety of dynamic standing situations. Special emphasis will be placed on strengthening and mobilizing the musculature of the upper legs and gluteal area.

About JKA Solvents and Glue

JKA Solvents and Glue is a movement system for strengthening, solidifying, and special toning through an enormous variety of very precise movements that bring structural clarity to major joints of the body. The sequences are invigorating to the musculoskeletal system and are a fitting complement to Feldenkrais, Yoga, Pilates, as well as any other physical exercise, sport or wellness practice.

What will happen each day

Day 2: Squatting Variations, Strengthening, and Moving

Using the base established in Day 1, we will learn a number of squatting variations. We will explore how different leg positions strengthen specific muscle groups, and how they relate to stability and movement.

  • Learning multiple squatting variations, and how to move in and out of them using Solvents and Glue concepts

  • Sensing and understanding which variations use specific muscle groups, noticing changes in your legs, ankles, thighs, glutes, and back

  • Building stamina and strengthening different aspects of the upper back using a Pilates ring

  • Developing stability across different squatting positions

Day 3: Transitions and Integration

Integrating the elements of Day 1 and Day 2, we will learn how to transition from a variety of squatting variations into other positions, exploring the relationship to the basics of JKA Solvents and Glue.

  • Review and integration of Day 1 and Day 2 themes and variations

  • Moving from the squat into other positions, such as going forward, backwards, higher, lower, onto the back, or into turning

  • Understanding how these transitions relate to JKA Solvents and Glue basics
